Human consumption and industrialization have an unavoidable effect on the environment, but we do our best at HQ to ensure that our impact is minimal. In honor of World Environment Day today, here are some ways we are making a difference.

Recyclable, sustainable packaging

You can recycle all our bottles, which are made with PET with aluminum caps. Our labels and cartons are FSC certified, made with 100% renewable energy and 100% post consumer waste. Our shipping boxes are FSC and SFI certified, made of 60% to 95% post-consumer waste, and 100% recyclable.

What do all these acronyms mean?

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) promotes sustainable forestry management by requiring program participants to acquire wood from known and legal sources, conserve biological diversity, and promote socially sound practices.

PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) is a biologically inert plastic that’s been thoroughly reviewed and approved as safe for contact with foods and drinks by the FDA, Health Canada, the European Food Safety Authority and other health-safety agencies.

PET is denoted by the '1' recycling symbol on the bottom of the bottle. It's widely accepted by most recycling programs and is easy to recycle. PET also cuts down on our carbon footprint as it is lighter to ship and breaks less frequently than glass. It also helps us use less protective padding.

A smaller footprint

We believe in 'just enough', so you won't find any 100-ingredient products or 10,000% RDA formulations here. We formulate our products with super efficient ingredients to help cover nutritional gaps in your diet or lifestyle. This means a smaller manufacturing footprint, less waste and less work for your body.
