It's almost #SaferInternetDay! We all know the perils of shopping online. Unsecured storage of sensitive information like names, passwords and credit card information can lead to disastrous identity theft that takes months to resolve.
How can you better protect your information online? How can you tell if the website you're browsing is secure?
One measure we've taken to protect ourselves and our customers is to obtain an extended SSL certificate.
When you access our website, there is a green padlock and our company name in the URL bar. This is our extended validation certificate, also known as an extended SSL certificate.
The certificate provides bank-level encryption, the strongest level available. Rest assured that your personal information, payment methods and browsing activity remains private when you visit and check out on our website.
To qualify for the extended validation certificate, we underwent a verification process to prove that we have a physical address and operate as a legitimate business and that we own and control our domain.
It also protects against imposters making copycat websites to steal your personal information, as fake sites would not have an EV SSL. Just look for the green padlock and the 'https' (not http) in our URL.
We're very proud to have the certificate. It's part of our continuing commitment to protect our customers' private information and to prove that you can shop on our site safely.
